About Nekomendo

Nekomendo is a free anime recommender, made in Spain, for anyone who doesn't know what to watch next. The idea is simple: tell it an anime you loved and it shows you similar ones, explaining what they have in common. If nothing comes to mind, pick a mood, take a quick quiz or try your luck with the gachapon.

Where the data comes from. All anime information (titles, genres, episodes, scores, covers, airing dates and official platforms) comes from AniList, an open anime database maintained by its community. That means the catalog includes almost everything that has aired, from 1960s classics to this week's premieres.

How recommendations are chosen. Similar anime come from recommendations made by AniList users, sorted by how many people support them. When an anime has only a few, the list is completed with well-rated shows that share its genres and themes. The gachapon's hidden gems are highly rated anime with low popularity. There are no paid recommendations.

Your privacy. There are no accounts and no sign-up. Your lists, name and album are stored only in your browser, and you can download a backup at any time. Visit statistics, when enabled, don't use cookies.

What else is there. Besides the search you'll find this season's new releases, a monthly airing calendar, a retro section by decade, an explorer with every genre and theme, watch order guides for each franchise and lists of the best anime by genre. Covers of ecchi anime are blurred.
